Dr. Gong Xiangqian 龚向前 (Chinese Correspondent)

Dr. Gong Xiangqian 龚向前 got a Ph.D (law) Degree from Wuhan University, China in 2005 and a Certification of Post-doctoral Researcher of Tsinghua University, China in 2007. He is an associate professor of law at Beijing Institute of Technology Law School, China, and acting as an academic visitor of University of Dundee, CEPMLP, UK. Professor GONG is interested in international and comparative law focusing on energy, environment, and public health. His academic positions have also included member of State Health and Quarantine Experts Commission of China, Member of Chinese Association of Energy Law, Council Member of Chinese Association of Environmental Law, etc. Professor Gong’s most recent book is "Studies on International Law Issues on Infectious Diseases Control" (Law Press, Beijing, 2010).   1. The 2012 annual symposium of Chinese Society of International Law was held on May 26, 2012 in Xian, China, with the theme of 'Contemporary China and International Law: State Practice and Theory Consideration.' The participants discussed the international law issues involved, for example, 'climate change,' 'trade redress,' etc.

  7. The State Council Information Office of China on September 25, 2012 published a white paper on "Diaoyu Dao, an inherent territory of China", and declared that Diaoyu Dao was first discovered, named and exploited by China.
